Your Anonymity Matters

Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

How the C.A. Meeting Finder app collects, uses, and protects your information — and the terms that govern your use of this site.

Last updated: June 6, 2026

Anonymity comes first. C.A. Meeting Finder helps you find Cocaine Anonymous meetings, track your sobriety, and read recovery content. We collect as little as possible. Our analytics are anonymous and are built so that activity can’t be traced back to any individual.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains, in plain language, what the C.A. Meeting Finder app does and does not collect. If you have any questions or want to make a privacy request, email us at [email protected] or [email protected].

You don’t need an account

You can use the app without creating an account or giving us your email address. An account is only needed if you want to save favorite meetings and sync your reminder settings.

What we collect when you create an account

If you choose to register (accounts are optional), we store the following on our servers:

  • Email address — used to register you and sign you in.
  • Password — used to sign you in. It is always sent over a secure (HTTPS) connection and is never stored on your device in readable form.
  • Favorite meetings — the meetings you choose to save.
  • Reminder preferences — how far ahead you want meeting reminders, and the time and timezone for your daily-reading reminder.

What stays only on your phone

Some information is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers:

  • Sobriety date — kept in your phone’s encrypted secure storage and used on your device to count your days sober and schedule reminders.
  • Sign-in token and push token — kept in encrypted secure storage.
  • Meeting filter preferences — your last-used location, search radius, location name, and meeting type.
  • App flags — small markers such as “guided tour seen” and “location permission asked.”

Location

  • We use your location only to find nearby or emergency meetings and to sort meetings by distance.
  • Location is used only while the app is open. Background location is turned off.
  • Your coordinates and timezone are sent to our server only when you actively ask for nearby or emergency meetings — never continuously, never in the background, and they are not stored.
  • You can refuse or turn off location at any time in your device settings. The app still works without it; you just won’t get distance-based features.

Push notifications

  • We use Expo’s push notification service to send meeting reminders and daily-reading reminders.
  • A device push token is created, stored securely on your device, registered with our server, and linked to your account after you log in.
  • You can turn reminders off in the app or in your device settings at any time.

Analytics — and what we deliberately do not collect

  • Our analytics are anonymous, and we take extra steps to scrub out personal data.
  • We record basic feature usage only — things like screen views, taps, and settings changes — along with low-detail, non-identifying information.
  • We do not collect your name, email, address, precise location, anything you typed, or your actual sobriety date.
  • Location lookups based on your IP address are turned off, and your locale and timezone are removed from analytics.
  • The app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. There is no advertising or data-broker tracking, ad signals are off, and we do not collect advertising identifiers.

Permissions the app may ask for

The app only asks for a permission when a feature needs it, and you can grant or revoke each one at any time in your device settings:

  • Location (while in use) — “Allow C.A. Meeting Finder to use your location to find nearby meetings.”
  • Calendar — to save meetings you’re interested in to your calendar.
  • Reminders (iOS) — to send reminders for your saved meetings.
  • Notifications — for meeting and daily-reading reminders.

Children

This app is not directed at children. It is intended for people aged 13 and older. However, there is no harmful content for children.

Keeping and deleting your data

  • The only account data we keep is your email address, password, and — if you have one — your subscription plan ID. We keep it until you ask us to delete it.
  • You can delete your account from inside the app, or by emailing [email protected] or [email protected].
  • To remove local data from your phone, log out (which clears your sign-in token) or uninstall the app.

Security

  • Sign-in tokens and sensitive on-device data are kept in encrypted secure storage. Passwords are never saved on your device.
  • All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS.
  • We enforce strong passwords — at least 8 characters, with upper- and lower-case letters, a number, and a special character.

Your choices and rights

  • Turn location, notifications, or calendar access on or off at any time in your device settings.
  • Turn reminders off in the app or in your device settings.
  • Ask to see or delete your data by emailing [email protected] or [email protected].
